On August 28th, 1955, 14 year old Emmett Till, a black boy, was shot and killed by two white men.
The trial accusing them lasted 5 days, and at the end, the men were acquitted. However, afterward the men admitted to killing Emmett. The case was later reopened, and they were found guilty. This was seen as a crucial turning point in the civil rights movement.
I’m not even going to add anything because there’s too much to put into words. Just everyone think about this.
